Our Beliefs
Love
We were created to love.
God is love (1 John 4:8) and as people created in His image (Genesis 1:27) and loved by Him (1 John 3:16), God and love should be at the center of our lives.
Matthew 22:37-40 (BSB)
Jesus declared, “ ‘Love the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your soul and
with all your mind.’ c 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it:
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ d 40 All the
Law and the Prophets hang on these two
commandments.”
God
God has always existed.
Please see Genesis 1:1, Genesis 21:33
There is only one God (Deut. 6:4, 1 Kings 8:59-60) but in three persons. God The Father (Matthew 6:9-15), God the Son Jesus (Luke 1:31-35, Luke 2:10-11, Matthew 28:18, Hebrews 1:3) and God The Holy Spirit.
God is our creator (Genesis 1), He is our provider (1 Timothy 6:17), He loves us deeply (John 3:16, 1 John 4:10-11) and deserves all our devotion, thanks and praise (Psalm 145:3, Psalm 96:4-5). God is love (1 John 4:8), He is Holy (Isaiah 6:3), He is powerful (Matthew 19:26) and just (Psalm 11:7).
Jesus
Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world.
Jesus was with God in Heaven (John 1:1-14, John 16:28) and came to earth through a virgin birth (Luke 1:26-38, Isaiah 7:14).
Jesus lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:14-1), died on the cross to pay for all our sin (Hebrews 10:10), and rose from the dead on the third day. (Luke 24:1-7, 1 Cor. 15:1-8) Because of Him the believers are adopted and become God’s children (Galatians 4:4-7) and He has made them perfect. (Hebrews 10:14).
Jesus resurrection proved that he is who he said he is, the Son of God. It also proved that there is life after death (John 20:26-29, 1 Cor. 15:12-26; see also John 11:23-27).
Jesus is in Heaven at the right hand of God (Hebrews 10:12) interceding on our behalf. (Romans 8:34)
In future Jesus will come back and take us to be with him (John 14:3).
Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity.
Holy Spirit is dwelling in the people that are saved (Romans 8:9, 14-16). He can teach us what to say (Luke 12:11-12), give us power (Acts 1:8), intercede on our behalf (Romans 8:26) and enable us to do things we usually would not be able to do (Acts 2:4) and distributes Spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 12:1-11).
We can receive the Holy Spirit by asking our Heavenly Father. (Luke 11:13)
Bible
Bible is the perfect authority and guidebook for life.
1) Bible was written by men under a supernatural inspiration from God, it is the Word of God. Please see 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
2) God has revealed himself to us in the Bible and in the person Jesus Christ (Hebrews. 1:3) and God continues to teach us (John 14:25, John 16:13-15) through Holy Spirit that lives in every new born believer. (Ephesians 1:13-14, Romans 8:14-17, 1 John 4:13-15.)
3) We are not to change, add or deduct anything from the Bible, however as the language is changing we need to add new Bible translations so that it stays easy to understand for each generation.
4) Difficult Bible passages are to be interpreted in the light passages that are easier to understand
5) We believe God is love (1 John 4:8), He is faithful (2 Tim. 2:13), He is eternal (Psalm 102:27), He does not change (James 1:17) and He does not lie. (Numbers 23:18-20).
We believe God does not contradict himself and if there are passages that seem to contradict, it means that our interpretation is not yet perfect.
Human Beings
We were created in God’s image
We are distinct from animals.
Please see Genesis 1:27
Since we were created in God’s image, every person is greatly valuable regardless of their past, gender, race, age, handicap or any other factor.
God was thinking about you, even before the creation of the world (Ephesians 1:4) and has purpose for your life. (Psalm 139:13-16)
We are to love God and people (Matthew 22:37-39, John 31:34-35), life should be protected (Exodus 20:13) from conception (Proverbs 31:8-9), to birth and beyond. (Luke 6:31)
We should support married couples, single moms and those with unplanned pregnancies so that as many as possible would carry the child until birth and would have enough support to raise their children well.
Sin
Whenever we fail to love we sin.
The first human beings sinned against God and since then, every human being has been tainted by sin (Romans 5:12-17).
Sin results to death (both physical and spiritual) (Romans 6:20-23) and a separation from our loving God. (Isaiah 59:1-2)
Sin can take many forms but often the root is pride and selfishness. Because of pride we want to live our own way, rebel against our loving God and take advantage of others.
Salvation
God provided a way for us to be saved!
We cannot save ourselves but God wants everyone to be saved and provided a way for us.
Please see 1 Timothy 2:4-6, John 3:16
God’s love and Eternal life cannot be earned, but it is to be received as a gift through faith in Jesus Christ.
Please see: Ephesians 2:8-9, John 1:12
Marriage
Marriage is a lifelong, loving and Holy union between a man and a woman.
Please see: Ephesians 5:21-29, Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:6, Colossians 3:18-21
In marriage, husband and wife are to work as a team, caring for each other.
Please see Ephesians 5:21, 28, 33
Marriage is a picture of the loving relationship between Jesus and the Church.
Please see Ephesians 5:32
Sex is God given gift that was designed to be enjoyed in marriage only. Please see Matthew 5:27-28, 1 Corinthians 7:39
A man is called to love his wife sacrificially and a woman is to respect her husband.
Family
Loving marriage is the perfect place to raise a family
Both Father and Mother have an important role in raising children. Please see Titus 2:4-6, Ephesians 6:4
Children are to be loved, guided, protected and provided for. Please see Colossians 3:21
There is no place for any type of harassment or abuse of children. Please see Matthew 7:12
Mission
God gave us the Great Commission
Matthew 28:18-20 (BSB)
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to
Me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples d of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and
teaching them to obey all that I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, even to the
end of the age.”
We believe the Great Commission is meant to all believers not just the Apostles.
Both men and women have an important role in carrying out the Great Commission, yet there is a difference between the roles.
